POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible to perform routine as well as non-routine evaluation of raw materials, final product analysis; must provide continuous laboratory analytical support, carrying out all duties in a safe, environmentally friendly and appropriate manner in accordance with all policies, procedures, guidelines and work instructions and review summarize and complete daily log sheets and shift handover logs.

JOB DUTIES

To provide continuous laboratory analytical support, carrying out all duties in a safe, environmentally friendly and appropriate manner in accordance with all policies, procedures, guidelines and work instructions
Test and set up lab equipment
Collect and interpret data
Maintain glassware by picking-up, cleaning, washing, and sterilizing
Maintain safe handling of materials, transporting of gas cylinders and replacing them.
Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books
Resolve problems as they arise by examining and evaluating data
Progress various weekly / monthly checklists
Complete daily log sheets and shift handover logs
Laboratory analyst keep laboratory and work areas clean and organized
Daily Lab analyst must to replace Shift lab analysts if needed
Must follow SOPs related to quality control.
Ensure successful testing by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager, within your scope of practice
Completes experimental procedures accurately and consistently.
Complies with safety policies, laws, regulations, standards, and best practices for safe operation of the lab, including the SOCAR Polymer principles.
ACCOUNTABILITY

Prepare and standardize chemical reagents to specified volumes and concentrations;
Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records
Completes experimental procedures accurately and consistently to be in compliance with schedules
TYPICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 2-4 years of practical experience in similar industry
Must have outstanding safe work practices
Advanced experience on test equipment use.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Advanced knowledge of Azerbaijani
Good knowledge of English.
Knowledge of Russian is an asset
TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Knowledge of Laboratory Analysis for polymer plants
Work principles of existing equipment in polymer laboratory
Practical skill in working with analytical instruments [FT-IR, HPLC, UV, GC-MS/FID/TCD, ICP, DSC]
Practical skill in working with physico-mechanical instruments [Cast Film Extruder, Mini Extruder, Injection Molding, MFR, Tensile Tester, HDT/Vicat, Izod/Charpy]
Time management;

TRAINING & EDUCATION NEEDED

Bachelor`s Degree in Chemistry
Master`s Degree in Chemistry is an advantage
