Job Description:

As the Head of the Commercial Department, you will lead our sales, marketing, and customer service teams — developing strategies, building strong partnerships, and driving market growth.

This role is both strategic and hands-on: you’ll design commercial growth plans, enter new markets, and stay close to clients and operations while ensuring effective use of our infrastructure.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Higher education in Business, Marketing, Logistics or related fields;
8+ years of progressive experience in sales, marketing, or business development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Able to think strategically with a long-term perspective, while staying focused on execution and consistently delivering results
Thorough knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing transit operations, import-export activities, and multimodal transportation in Azerbaijan and its surrounding countries (including customs, food safety and other relevant compliance areas)
Extensive experience in B2B sales, managing long-term relationships, and delivering revenue growth
Strong analytical abilities in market research and data interpretation, with the capability to design strategic business plans that leverage multimodal transportation to support business objectives
Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and logistics stakeholders, while collaborating effectively across functions
Proven track record of expanding customer portfolios and entering new geographical markets by developing strategic partnerships, particularly in the transportation and logistics sectors
Strong ability to tackle complex logistics and transportation challenges using practical and innovative solutions
Adapts easily to market shifts and consistently identified new ways to grow the business
Fluency in Azerbaijani and Russian; English is an advantage
Additional Requirements:

Willingness and ability to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally
Key Responsibilities:

Represent the company and actively identify and pursue new business opportunities in both local and international markets to support expansion into new geographic regions and industry sectors;
Develop and implement strategic plans for the expansion of the company’s customer portfolio, especially targeting those that deal in transit and multimodal transportation;
Establish and sustain strong relationships with clients, partners, government bodies (e.g. state authorities), and key stakeholders to support sustainable business growth;
Collaborate with internal teams, particularly logistics, to ensure seamless service delivery and effective use of transport infrastructure (rail, road, etc.), while also contributing strategic input for market expansion and customer segmentation in line with business growth objectivesProactively address and overcome challenges encountered during the execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted progress;
Drive change management initiatives by supporting teams during transitions and ensuring effective adaptation to new strategies and evolving market conditions;
Coordinate the work of the Business Development and Marketing, Customer Service and Sales divisions;
Preparation of monthly/annual reports on sales and marketing;
Initiating and proposing improvements for existing services, as well as introducing new service solutions
Assessing the performance of team members, identifying training needs;
Designing strategic KPIs and performance-based bonus schemes to enhance productivity and employee engagement;
Organizing the adaptation and mentoring process of new employees.
